Hello! Im felicia and in this portfolio i will be showcasing my achievements, information about me, the work that i have done before; and what skills i have.
about me
I am a year 2 student currently studying at Ngee Ann polytechnic taking a diploma in Early Childhood and Development Education. I am 18 years-old this year and I would most likely continue pursuing this course in the future, as i am motivated by my passion for guiding children and having a keen interest in nurturing them

Some personal traits that I possess are that I am a positive and easy-going person who provides assistance and aid to those need. Being a clean and organized person, I am able to keep track of schedules and plan ahead on how to stick to it. My time management skills may be useful in a classroom setting, helping them to stay on track of their work. I am a devoted person and believes in lifelong learning.

I am also a creative person. I have many ideas that can be used to support the development of the children, such as lessons that focus on art, or music and movement. I love arts and crafts, and I strive for the crafts to be simple and easy to recreate. This allows children to be able to remake, create and explore using accessible materials at home. I am educated in multiple fields, such as engaging children in music and movement, to develop their motor skills.

skillsets that I possess
As an aspiring early educator, I have factors about myself that makes me a suitable candidate. Firstly, I have good communication skills, which allows me to deliver concepts in a concise manner. This enables me to effectively share my ideas and converse with parents and colleagues. Secondly, I am an empathetic and compassionate person, allowing me to create a safe and positive nurturing space for the children to learn. I am also able to manage a classroom more effectively due to my organizational skills, providing all the children equal amounts of attention and being able to keep track of the planned schedule. I am also learning to improve on my IT skills now, hence i can offer assistance to peers that need it.
Hobbies

going on evening jogs
On the days that I am free, I hang out with my friends to go on evening jogs together. I think it helps to get in the daily step count and it is my favourite form of exercise. When my family members are free, they tag along on my journeys.

visiting animal shelters
Every month, I pay a visit to the nearby animal shelter near my home (SPCA) and sometimes take part as a volunteer to help out as well. I think it is a meaningful way to spend my free time and I have fun spending time with the animals, especially the cats.

playing video games
Since childhood, I liked playing video games. There is a wide variety that I have interest in and it really helps to destress and bond with my friends by playing together too. It is my comfort hobby and I am thankful for my family for introducing it to me.
personal weaknesses
I have quite low self-esteem and confidence, which hinders some work due to personal feelings, however I am working on it, and I know that this issue is slowly improving, and I will do my best to not let this affect my work life in a preschool setting.
